Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law

The Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law (Lawyers Committee) was founded in 1963 at the request of John F. Kennedy to mobilize the nations private bar to support the civil rights movement. Today, we continue to lead efforts to protect and expand civil rights across the country and secure equal justice for all through the rule of law, targeting in particular the inequities confronting Black people and other people of color. The Lawyers Committee is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, and we envision a nation where everyone has the voice, opportunity, and power to make the promises of our democracy real.

American Civil Liberties Union Foundation, Inc.

Founded in 1920, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, multi-issue, 1.5 million+ member public interest organization devoted to protecting the civil liberties of all people in the United States. Recognized as the nation's premier public interest law firm, the ACLU works daily in courts, legislatures, and communities to defend and preserve the freedoms guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. The ACLU Foundation is the 501 (c)(3) arm of the organization.

National Womens Law Center

The National Women's Law Center has worked since its inception in 1972 to protect and advance the progress of women and girls at work, in school, and in virtually every aspect of their lives -- with special attention given to the needs of low-income women and their families. The Center brings to its work extensive subject expertise in such areas as family income security, employment, education, health and reproductive rights.

Pro Publica Inc

ProPublica is an independent, non-profit newsroom that produces investigative journalism to expose abuses of power and betrayals of the public trust by government, business, and other institutions, using the moral force of investigative journalism to spur reform through the sustained spotlighting of wrongdoing.

FairVote

FairVote advances systemic electoral reform to achieve a fully participatory and truly representative democracy that respects every vote and every voice in every election. We work toward these goals by providing advocates with innovative research and reform strategy. We promote ranked choice voting (“instant runoff”), a constitutionally protected right to vote, a national popular vote for president, and, most fundamentally, fair representation voting forms of proportional representation.

Common Cause Education Fund

The Common Cause Education Fund (CCEF) is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to restoring the core values of American democracy, reinventing an open, honest, and accountable government that serves the public interest, and empowering ordinary people to make their voices heard in the political process. CCEF employs research, outreach, educational programming, and coalition building to increase public understanding of how our democracy works, empower citizens to hold their government accountable, and promote broad and effective citizen engagement at federal, state, and local levels.

William J Brennan Jr Center For Justice Inc

The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law is a nonpartisan law and policy institute that seeks to improve our systems of democracy and justice. We work to hold our political institutions and laws accountable to the twin American ideals of democracy and equal justice for all. The Center's work ranges from voting rights to campaign finance reform, from ending mass incarceration to preserving Constitutional protection in the fight against terrorism. Part think tank, part advocacy group, part cutting-edge communications hub, we start with rigorous research. We craft innovative policies. And we fight for them — in Congress and the states, the courts, and in the court of public opinion.
